icebergs ahead

The first bloom on our iceberg rose bush.
The plant is absolutely covered with buds, I can't wait to see it in full bloom.
I used the macro mode on my camera when taking this shot.
A little bit of editing (cropping and slightly sharpened) and I'm really happy with the final result.
I think it would look fantastic as a canvas.
What do you think?

Love the blog, not to mention your awesome photos. Love the photo of the flower and I think it would look awesome as a canvas. What equipment are you using?

Thanks Andrew :)
I'm just using my trusty old point and shoot fuji camera. It's amazing how far a little bit of knowledge will go. Just learning about the basics about how my camera works and what each mode is for has had a marked improvement on my photos :)

Emma, this is such a wonderful 'pure' shot, just perfection. And you are obviously quite the gardener too. I'm struggling to keep basil alive at the moment :)

Thanks Paula :) I don't know that my vegie garden would agree with you though lol My peas and beans were a disaster and my broccoli went straight to seed. :(

The rose has been really easy to grow. My MIL planted it (from bare root form) and we've just made sure to water it a few times a week. Oh and we gave it a dose of sulphur of pot ash too which helps produce lots of blooms. Thanks for visiting :)
